What Are Group Drills?
Group Drills are live, interactive sessions where faculty rapidly works through high-yield clinical questions with students in real time. These are not lectures. Students are actively called on, asked to reason through questions out loud, and corrected immediately when their thinking breaks down.
The goal is not memorization. The goal is fast, accurate, defensible decision-making — the same skill that separates students who pass from students who plateau.
How the Training Works
Each drill session follows a structured process designed around how board-style questions actually work:
- Study the pattern — Faculty presents high-yield clinical scenarios and walks students through the reasoning behind each answer.
- Work through it live — Students are called on to answer, explain their thinking, and defend their choices in real time.
- Repeat until it becomes familiar — The same high-yield patterns are reinforced across sessions through structured repetition until the reasoning process becomes automatic.
What You Will Get
- Daily live Group Drills, Monday through Friday
- High-yield, question-driven training focused on the patterns that appear most often on boards
- Guided reasoning and exam strategy built into every session
- Reinforcement of concepts that repeatedly appear on USMLE Step and COMLEX Level exams
- Accountability and real-time feedback from faculty
- A structured training rhythm that replaces passive study with active retrieval
Who This Is For
Team Drilling Sessions are built for MD and DO students who:
- Are preparing for USMLE Step 1, Step 2 CK, Step 3, or COMLEX Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3
- Have plateaued and need a structured system to break through
- Feel overwhelmed by too many resources and not enough direction
- Want regular, guided practice instead of studying alone
- Learn best when challenged and corrected in real time
- Are tired of passive studying that does not translate to exam performance
Course Options
Step 1 / Level 1 Track
Focused on foundational mechanisms, core concepts, and system integration. Ideal for first-time test takers and retakers who need structure, repetition, and disciplined thinking.
Step 2 CK / Step 3 / Level 2 Track
Clinically oriented, case-based drilling focused on diagnosis, management, and prioritization — designed for students on rotations and those preparing for residency-level exams.
Why This Format Works
Most students do not struggle because they did not study enough. They struggle because they studied passively, alone, and without feedback.
Team Drilling Sessions fix that by building the skills that actually determine exam performance:
- Retrieval instead of rereading — Students practice pulling information under pressure, not just recognizing it on a page.
- Real-time correction — When reasoning breaks down, faculty identifies the problem immediately so it does not become a habit.
- Pattern recognition through repetition — High-yield patterns are drilled across sessions until they become automatic.
- Confidence through demonstrated competence — Students build confidence by answering correctly under pressure, not by hoping they studied enough.

Co-Founder • Exam Strategy, MissionMed Institute
Dr. Jastrzembski is the co-founder of MissionMed Institute and the head of ExamPrep, the program’s exam preparation division. She leads the design and delivery of MissionMed’s USMLE and COMLEX training systems.
Approach
ExamPrep is built on reasoning-based learning, not passive review. Dr. J’s method centers on live team drilling sessions where students work through clinical scenarios together, building the diagnostic thinking patterns that board exams actually test.
Rather than relying on memorization-heavy approaches, the ExamPrep system focuses on active recall, spaced repetition through live sessions, and real-time coaching to identify and correct reasoning gaps as they happen.
What She Does at MissionMed
Through ExamPrep, Dr. J oversees team drilling sessions, 1-on-1 tutoring at the master level, and the development of MissionMed’s proprietary drill methodology. Her sessions are trusted by students from both MD and DO programs preparing for USMLE Step 1, Step 2 CK, and COMLEX Level 1 and Level 2.

What Dr Subani Dias actually said.
In a personal advising session, Dr Brian asked Dr Subani Dias what kind of teaching faculty she wanted to be. Her answer was about Dr J, the mentor who carved her into a sharper version of herself. Pulled directly from the recording.
She just cuts through. There is no time for excuses. And I love that. No time for it.
