Train before you test
Real interviews should not be your practice rounds. Knowing your experience and explaining it under pressure are different skills.
Mission Residency builds question recognition, personal content, adaptable answers and authentic delivery. With Dr Brian, practice becomes specific feedback and a clear next step.
For IMGs, Caribbean graduates, U.S. MD and DO students, reapplicants and strong first-time applicants. Across specialties.
Recognize what the interviewer is really asking, then choose the material that answers it.
Use your own truthful experiences. Build answers that can move with a real conversation.
Work on presence, pacing, voice and body language before the stakes are real.
Research programs with purpose. Connect what you learn to specific questions and better conversations.
Pacing, voice, body language and deliberate communication. Practice making your meaning clear.
Recognize the question beneath the question and choose truthful material from your experience.
Traditional, behavioral, CV-based, panel and group interviews. Virtual and in-person preparation.
Purposeful program research, better questions, the impression you leave and what follows.
The interview is part of the ranking decision
The NRMP's 2024 survey identifies interpersonal skills, interactions during interviews and feedback from current residents among key considerations for ranking.
These are reported selection factors, not MissionMed outcomes and not a prediction of your result. They explain why communication deserves deliberate preparation alongside your application.
The overall survey included 1,150 responding program directors, an 18.0% response rate. Specialty practices differ.
